In what was a potential banana skin of a tie, given our recent cup clashes with the Saints, The Arsenal came through with flying colours to book a place the next round, smashing Southampton four five while Theo grabbed three, Welbeck two and we won. See what I did there?

Danny Welbeck scored twice, while Theo grabbed a hat trick against his old club to book us a place in tonight’s FA Cup draw where we will no doubt get another away draw at a Premier League club. We started the game with the three hyphen formation, Maitland-Niles, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Reine-Adelaide, all in the mix, The Ox was full of praise for his young hyphenated team mates after they’d all played well:

“Obviously the midfielders were shuffled up a lot and we had a big responsibility today, Southampton are always strong in there so I thought the two young boys, Ainsley and Jeff, did really well beside me…”

Southampton only mustered one or two pot shots, all dealt with by Ospina, and a miserable evening for Southampton saw their hope of making a second Wembley final this season disappear. Back to league action this week now, with the visit of Watford tomorrow night at The Emirates.
