According to a report in the Birmingham Mail, Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom will be leaving Arsenal this month on a loan deal, probably moving to Championship side Aston Villa for the rest of the season.
Akpom was sent out on loan to Steve Bruce’s former club Hull City last season to gain some first team experience and he managed to grab seven goals for the Premier League side, helping them to promotion and it’s thought he will join up once again with Bruce at Villa Park.
It’s thought that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger still strongly believes in Akpom’s potential and was all set to call him in to his cup squad, but unfortunately he picked up a badly timed injury.
It’s thought that there are a few other Championship clubs showing a keen interest in Akpom, but it’s thought Aston Villa is the player’s preferred destination and a loan deal could be wrapped in the next week.
