A report in The Metro claims that Arsenal sent out scouts to watch Porto midfielder Danilo Pereira’s performance against Rio Ave on Saturday which ended a 4-2 win for his side.

The highly-rated ace’s performance have been impressing Arsene Wenger for the last two years after his move to Porto from Maritimo.

Danilo’s performance in their Saturday clash was brilliant and he impressed the watching Arsenal scouts by helping the Portuguese club come back from 2-1 down in the game to win 4-2.

It’s thought that Danilo has a release clause worth a whopping £34.5 million on his current contract with Porto and he’s apparently available at the end of this present season, according to a report from A Bola in Portugal.

The Portuguese international managed to balance Benfica’s midfield when he joined them in 2010 and personally, I think it will make a lot of sense to have Danilo in our squad as his clever movement and brilliant technique would be a welcome addition to our midfield.

However, no one knows the truth behind this report (as its from The Metro after all) so another one to be taken with a pinch of salt for now.
