For a couple of days now there have been reports flying around claiming that Arsenal midfielder Gedion Zelalem is on the verge of leaving the Emirates Stadium in a loan deal to VVV Venlo to go gain some first team experience.

A report from De Telegraaf via Sport Witness on Tuesday reckons that an Arsenal delegation and Zelalem were both watching the club play during the weekend, to determine whether the club was suitable as the ace’s next destination.

The deal was meant to have been concluded by now but it’s now thought that it’s awaiting Arsene Wenger’s approval but it’s thought he has finally said yes to the deal, and medicals can go ahead.

They further report that Dortmund have been disappointed with the report as they also interested in signing the youngster, his contract expires at the end of the season and they were looking to sign him on a free transfer.

However, it’s now thought that Wenger is planning a new deal for Zelalem, which is why he is happier to let him go on loan, and not on a permanent deal away from the Emirates.
