Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has apparently been looking at options to boost his attack on the back of the knowledge that Santi Cazorla has been ruled out for longer that was originally thought. There are new reports today linking Wenger with a move for French international Dimitri Payet, the Express claiming last month that the Payet’s dazzling footwork has caught the attention of Le Boss after he confirmed he wanted to leave West Ham.
The latest report in The Daily Star reckons that Arsenal have now opened talks to complete the signing of Payet who wants a move away from the Hammers as soon as possible, its taken as read that he will be moving this window, the news outlet further reported that Manchester United are also showing a keen interested in signing the ace, so Wenger will have to move fast to push ahead for a deal if he wants to complete a deal for the Frenchman.
Payet’s performances over the recent months have been nothing short of brilliant, and he has managed to help the Hammers into the top ten of the Premier League table.
The highly-rated international has been rated at around £35million by the Mirror, with the ace scoring 3 goals and providing 8 assists in 22 appearances this season for West Ham.
I don’t personally see Wenger paying such a ridiculous amount to sign a player who doesn’t have the Champion League especially when we have so many attack minded players in the same position, so this rumour is a very flaky one, at best.
