Olivier Giroud started, and finished the game with an 87th minute header after it had looked like West Brom’s resolution had earned them a point.
A pinpoint cross from Mesut Ozil, was met by Giroud’s head despite being wrestled by a hapless West Brom defender to take all three points.
As you’d expect, we’d dominated possession for most of the game, but West Brom had several chances of their own to go ahead, but didn’t take them well enough. It was a supersub by Arsene Wenger which changed the game, bringing on Aaron Ramsey on his birthday, which stirred things up on the pitch and eventually led to the winner.
Alexis had several chances himself, hitting the post, and forcing several good saves from Fraser Forster, but it was Oli G who won us all three points at the death.
Everyone else at the top won again, so following our two depressing defeats on the road at Everton and Man City, it was vital we got back to winning ways, and we did… just.
Crystal Palace up next, come on you Reds!
