Rumours have been floating around for weeks now that Arsenal want to extend the current deals of both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to keep them at The Emirates for as long as possible.
The North London outfit have apparently now stepped up their interest in making new deals and Chile international Sanchez has been offered a new contract worth £180,000 a week which will make him the club’s highest paid player, but there are now rumours that he’s after a whopping £250,000 a week to remain at the club.
Currently, Sanchez ‘only’ earns £130,000 a week under manager Arsene Wenger but with his contract expiring next summer, Arsene Wenger is going all out to tie him down for longer. Wenger said that he wouldn’t sell either Sanchez or Ozil even if they don’t sign new deals, so it seems AW is ready to play hard ball with the pair.
The report in The Daily Mail claims Arsenal have offered Sanchez the pay rise, and extension, but he’s holding out for more money – so far this season, Sanchez is our top scorer in all competitions this season, and will hoping to continue this form at The Etihad this weekend.
Sanchez has scored 12 goals in just 16 matches this season, the most recent his free kick away at Everton in midweek where we slumped to only our second defeat of the season.
