The main talk today seems to be the contract wrangling of Mesut Õzil and Alexis Sanchez, both out of contract in 18 months time.

For me, they both seem happy at the club and not the sort of players to leave for more money, but let’s see. It’s like being on a plane, don’t panic until the cabin crew does, i.e. Le Boss.

Wenger confirmed we are working on a new deal for Oxlade-Chamberlain and Santi Cazorla, along with Olivier Giroud. There could also be new deals on the cards for Jack Wilshere and Mertesacker, so a busy time for the back room boys behind the scenes.

Bellerin Back?
Back to our on the pitch exploits and we face Stoke at The Emirates this weekend on the back of a great week for The Gunners.

We have scored nine goals in our last two games, away at West Ham and Basel and will be looking to continue this form at home. Hector Bellerin is almost back in action and could be ready subject to a late fitness test, while there should be no more missing from the Basel squad, Coquelin returns from suspension.

Stoke Team News…
Literally no one cares.

Spaniard in the Works(hop)…
Santo Cazorla had his surgery this week and everything went as well as it could apparently. We had the good luck message from Nacho and the cheesy thumbs up from Santi in his hospital bed, so fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

Vieira Has a Paddy…
Patrick Vieira is having a moan about not being given a chance at Arsenal despite spending nine years at the club as captain. Vieira left for Italy before joining Man City and isn’t happy we didn’t give him a chance to joint the club in some kind of coaching capacity.

As The Crow Flies…
Dan Crowley has joined Dutch side and team of superhero crime fighting buzzards, The Go Ahead Eagles. Crowley’s loan spell at Oxford was cut short due to attitude problems (didn’t realise Oxford was so high up?).

Good luck Daniel, I know he’s an avid reader of ArsenalShorts between all the fighting, joy-riding and shoplifting.
