It has been confirmed by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger that Chilean international does have some fitness issues, picked up in the clash against West Ham on Saturday that ended a 1-5 win.

It was a brilliant performance from Sanchez who helped Arsenal to move into second position in the Premier League with an amazing hat trick against the Hammers.

The goals he scored against West Ham have taken him to the top of the top scoring charts, along with Chelsea striker Diego Costa who also scored at the weekend against Manchester City.

Despite bagging three goals Sanchez also notched an assist, squaring for Mesut Ozil to score the first goal of the game, but it now sounds like bad news for Arsenal fans out there including me, as a report in the media now claims Wenger confirmed the Chile international has an injury.

Wenger said as quoted by the club’s official website:

“He had a problem in his back at half-time, but he looked sharper in the second half than in the first!”

Wenger said when talking about the ace performance as a striker for the team.

“Look, he has all the ingredients to be a top class striker and he shows that now in every game. In a game like that today, again he is quick, he is quick to close down, he can dribble, he has short backlift. He has a killer instinct and it shows again that the South Americans, at the moment in world football, are the leading strikers. You have to acknowledge that. If you look through the top strikers in Europe, they are basically all South American now…”
