Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has confirmed he would prefer to join Arsenal ahead of Manchester United if he ever moved away from Bayern Munich for a club in the Premier League.

Premier League giants Manchester United have been keeping a close eye on the defender’s recent performances, but a report in The Manchester Evening News confirms the player would rather join Arsenal ahead of any other club in the premier League.

The 24-year-old is currently under contract with his current club Bayern Munich until 2021 but the report claims that Carlo Ancelotti could be leaving soon, and that Arsenal might be quick to take advantage and make a move for the Austrian international.

Alaba is currently valued £34 million by Bayern and United’s new manager Jose Mourinho is said to be on the look out to bring in two defenders in the January window, so could make a move then but whether Alaba would want to join the unhinged Mourinho, sent off again this weekend, remains to be seen.

However, as an Arsenal fan I personally think landing Alaba would make a lot of sense and it would be a great benefit for us, and with his experience, he could bring Bayern’s winning mentally to The Emirates which could help us towards the league title this season.

This week sees us turn our attention to the EFL Cup, before another big game at the unpredictable West Ham on Saturday night.
