After yesterday’s announcement linking us with a fresh move for Julian Draxler, Wolfsburg’s Sporting Director has had a huge change of heart and said there’s no reason to think about him leaving in the January window to join Arsenal. This comes despite this quote from the same guy just yesterday:
“We’d evaluate it differently now and maybe give our approval the next time…”
Draxler has long been a target for Arsene Wenger, and it looked like this January’s window could finally see him make a successful bid to land the World Cup winner.
However, Klaus Allofs said today that:
“It is wrong to think we are looking to sell him. The most important thing is that the impression that Julian wants out disappears. He wants to do everything within his powers to be successful at Wolfsburg…”
However, this could just be wishful thinking, and like Father Dougal’s comment ‘I’m absolutely, one hundred million percent sure that you’ll be doing the right thing…’, is this quote:
“I am (a hundred million per cent) convinced Julian will not repeat his comments from last summer…”
