Accord to a report in The Daily Star, Mathieu Debuchy wants to force a move away from The Emirates in January.
The French international defender has not featured in any matches for the first team or even the reserves so far this term, and it seems as though with the resurgence of Carl Jenkinson, and Hector Bellerin’s meteoric rise, Debuchy has had enough. Debuchy played for the U23s last week, and scored in a 2-0 win over Spurs, but Arsene Wenger said that he’s still not Premier League match fit despite his efforts.
It’s further likely that Debuchy won’t start in today’s Champion League game against PSG, Wenger looking likely to play Jenks again after starting him against Manchester United.
The source of the report is coming from London Evening Standard and they reckon he will ask to leave if he continues to not be played.
Just 18 months ago, Arsenal completed the signing of Debuchy from Newcastle for a deal worth £12m to replace Bacary Sagna but he was injured soon after at the hands of Stoke, and battled his way back through various injuries before regaining his fitness and then being sent out on loan to Bordeaux.
Personally, I think sir Wenger should loan him so perhaps he can regain his form and be as good has he was when he was with Newcastle and fulfill his potential with us.
