Since, even before Spurs last won the league, some 65 years ago, Arsenal have been linked with signing German international Julian Draxler, and we even bid for him this summer only to see Wolfsburg turn down Arsene Wenger’s bid.
However, in a report from TalkSport (why would they lie?) now claim Arsenal have been put on a red alert after it was revealed by Wolfsburg that they may now be interested in doing a deal with Arsene Wenger.
They also report that an offer worth £59m bid was tabled by Paris Saint Germain but Wolfsburg stood firm even though the player himself wanted to leave the German club.
It’s now been confirmed by Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs that they could be open to doing a deal in January and may allow Draxler to leave, and that could see Arsene Wenger, a huge fan of Draxler, to make his move.
Allofs told Sport1 via TalkSport:
“We’d evaluate it differently now and maybe give our approval the next time.”
Personally, I think luring in Draxler to The Emirates would make a lot of sense as he can offer more consistency, replacing Theo Walcott and delivering better performances than the hit and miss attacker.
