In the last transfer window, many saw our business as pretty good, with Arsene Wenger bringing in the likes of Shkodran Mustafi, Lucas Perez, Granit Xhaka, Asano Takano, Rob Holding and Kelechi Nwakali.
However, Wenger had to send some of the younger players on loan, along with senior players Jack Wilshere and Calum Chambers. This left the more senior players, Mustafi, Xhaka and Perez at the Emirates but unfortunately for Lucas Perez he has failed to find his feet at the Emirates having featured in just 87 Premier League minutes so far since he arrive at the Emirates.
His development has been thwarted by injury, and the emergence of Alexis Sanchez up front for Arsenal, and also Olivier Giroud’s amazing goal scoring record from the bench, with 3 goals in just an hour or so of football since his return from his toe injury.
£17m Perez has managed to notch a couple of goals for Arsenal, albeit in the 4-0 League Cup win at Forest, but those jokers at Talksport reckon Perez will be sent on loan this January.
Personally, I can’t see Wenger sending him out on loan, as we’re short on strikers, with Alexis Sanchez probably about to be rested after his globetrotting exploits, this could be the chance that both Perez and Giroud have been waiting for.
However, stranger things have happened, and with Danny Welbeck still to return, let’s wait and see in January.
