Even with the consistent performances of the likes of Granit Xhaka, Mesut Ozil, Francis Coquelin, Santi Cazorla and Mohamed Elneny manager Arsene Wenger still remain keen on lure in another midfielder to The Emirates, and the report from The Daily Star now claims Leandro Paredes is high on Le Boss’s Christmas shopping list.

They report Wenger has already held discussions with the midfielder’s representatives over a potential move to The Emirates in the upcoming January window.

Roma signed Paredes from Boca Juniors for around £5m in the summer of 2015, and he was then sent out on loan to Empoli last season, where he featured in 33 games for the club, scoring twice and earning 11 yellow cards.

So far this season he has managed to net 14 goals for Luciano Spalletti’s side and has secured a first team place for Roma.

The Daily Star suggest Arsene Wenger is still keen to bolster the squad as injuries continue to threaten to derail another promising season.

We are currently fourth in the league table with a huge game this weekend against Manchester United at Old Trafford, let’s hope our injuries don’t cost us and we can return to The Emirates with Jose Mourinho’s head on a stick and all three points.
