Arsenal’s performance against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium bought many plaudits from the footballing world.

Daily Mail ‘pundit’ Jamie Redknapp was quick to heap praise on our impressive centre back pairing of Shkodran Mustafi and Laurent Koscielny, both amazing against Chelsea, keeping a clean sheet against Costa and co.

We final defeated Chelsea after almost half a decade, with Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil all on the scoresheet and keeping a clean sheet against a usually prolific strike force didn’t go unnoticed.

In his column in the Daily Mail, Redknapp said it was mainly down to Mustafi and Koscielny:

“Arsenal’s centre backs have been too easily bullied in recent years by Didier Drogba and Diego Costa. On Saturday afternoon, Shkodran Mustafi wasn’t having any of it. He showed so much quality alongside Laurent Koscielny and for the first time in a long time it looks like Arsenal have found a great centre-back partnership. The pair are both quick and good in the air. They are strong in both boxes and will threaten from set pieces, too…”
