Looking back at our brilliant performance against Chelsea on the weekend shows how far we have come and how are more than a match for anyone as we look to win our first title in 12 years.

Manager Arsene Wenger did some great business for Arsenal over the summer and he’s taking no prisoners this season, but could there be even more signings to come?

Despite the transfer window being closed until January, there’s still rumours afoot, albeit in The Metro who claim that Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie’s agent has confirmed that Arsenal are eyeing a January move for his client, and is in no way trying to arouse interest in the player or get him a pay rise, no Sir.

They reckon that we are among several European clubs looking to do a deal for the 19 year old Ivorian Coastian, so, if true, we’ll face stiff competition for his signature.

Kessie’s recent performances has been impressive in Serie A and his dazzling footwork has meant he’s been likened to former African Footballer of the Year, Yaya Toure.

You may remember, around 10 years ago, Toure was close to joining Arsenal but there were complications with his work permit meaning he didn’t join in the end, a huge loss for Arsenal at the time. As quoted by Goal, Kessie’s agent reportedly said:

“They were here in Italy to watch him. Arsenal are a good team but there are a lot of teams interested in him so they’re not the only possible destination…”

Kessie played against Palermo on Wednesday and there was apparently an Arsenal scout in Italy to watch his performance.

Despite being a midfielder Kessie already has some impressive goal scoring stats, with 4 goals in 5 games already for Atalanta, he could be a welcome addition come January if these rumours are true.
