The Shorts Morose Wednesday Round Up…

Well, another week passes, and still no players coming in to replace Welbeck, Per, Gabriel, Flamini, Arteta and/or Rosicky. Jack Wilshere still seems injured and Aaron Ramsey and Alex Iwobo definitely are injured.

Nothing seems to be happening in the market for us, so as time continues to slowly tick on, my money is us not signing anyone this week either, and certainly not in time for our visit to Watford on Saturday afternoon.

Wenger keeping the faith in the players we have is one thing, but potentially starting the season 8 points off the top come Sunday, is really not the start we were after.

In better news, we should have Kos, Oz and OG back for the weekend, fighting fit, starting the game, and giving us all a timely boost as we, lets face it, desperately search for our first win of the season.

Loan Watch…

Good news for Dan Crowley who scored for Oxford in a 4-2 defeat in the League Cup, bad news for Szczesny who’s AS Roma were dumped out of the Champions League qualifiers at the hands of Porto, Chez not having a great game…

Speaking of the Champions League, sorry Chezza, the draw for the group stage proper is this Thursday. Something to take our minds off of everyone else buying players and spending money down the transfer market.

Arsenal have this handy guide on the official website to see who we could face, before we get knocking out in the quarters by Barcelona or Bayern Munich of course. Seems like they’ve made a mistake though, Spurs seem to be in the draw? Perhaps it’s a placeholder.

Also, nice to see Olympiacos haven’t qualified, at least we can’t go there for the last group game, scramble our way through with a mixture of youth and experience.

Anyway lads, more transfer nonsense later…
