Forget Mahrez – Wenger wants to finally seal deal for Real Madrid forward, fans will love this

With the possibility of Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez joining Arsenal looking less and less likely as the window goes on, it’s been rumoured that Arsene Wenger has turned his eye elsewhere for a potential #madness.

He is said to be looking at Real Madrid forward James Rodriguez as an alternative for the Algerian international, according to a report from MARCA.

The Colombian seems to be out of favour at Madrid and has been restricted to just 17 games for the Los Blancos as its rumoured Real Madrid’s new manager Zinedine Zidane prefers the likes of Gareth Bale and Isco ahead of him.

However, the news outlet reckon he won’t be allowed to leave the Bernabeu for a low price, as Real are looking to recoup the money which they paid out to Monaco two years ago for his signature.

With just 15 days left of the transfer window, Arsene Wenger is under huge pressure to bring in a defender, and a striker at the very least.

It’s yet to be seen if Wenger will turn his attentions to signing a forward player should he complete the signing of Valencia’s centre back Shkodran Mustafi but let’s hope Arsenal has a busy final couple of weeks of the transfer window.
