Reliable journalist reveals Arsenal’s plan on signing a striker
As the transfer window moves into it’s final few days, Arsene Wenger is yet to move for another player following the signings of Xhaka, Asano, Holding and Nwakali.
Our first game ended in disaster, with a 4-3 defeat at home to Liverpool and our defensive frailties and lack of senior cover were there for all to see in the absence of Per Mertesacker and Gabriel, both of whom were injured in pre-season.
However, if reports are to be believed, the Mustafi deal looks like it’s going to be concluded soon and after that it seems Arsene Wenger is set to move to signing a striker. He missed out on Jamie Vardy at the start of the window, the striker choosing to remain at the King Power stadium and it was also claimed that Gonzalo Higuain was another target which Wenger allegedly missed out on when the Argentinian joined Juventus from Napoli.
Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata was another apparent target, but it looks like he will stay at Madrid after his return, leaving Arsene Wenger with very limited options to choose from up front.
Italian Journalist Emanuele Giulianelli claimed on his Twitter feed that Le Boss is still keen to bring a striker in during the last few days of the window. He tweeted:
Arsenal striker situation: no movement on that front. Wenger still keen to bring one in during the last few days of the window #afc

Giulianelli didn’t mention any specific names in the tweet but it’s thought that Mauro Icardi could be another target as his wife/agent has said there’s a chance he could still move, and Alexandre Lacazette could also move for the right price, so perhaps Wenger isn’t quite finished yet.
