ArsenalShorts Tuesday Morning Round Up
Man City 2-3 Arsenal…
In our final friendly of the season, we ran out 3-2 winners over our Premier League rivals Man City in Sweden.
Goals from Iwobi, Walcott and the now standard late goal from Chuba Akpom, saw us come from a goal down to win the game, despite a late second for City that left the nerves jangling at 3-2.
The bad news (obviously) was that in the 109th minute (or something) Gabriel was stretchered off with a knee injury/headache.
It looked pretty bad, but the player has taken to social media this morning to say things aren’t too bad after all. 3-4 weeks was the initial prognosis, but you have to start to wonder if we will sign anyone to replace him and Per at the back as time ticks on…
The latest news on that, is that a move for Mustafi is imminent, and we have a certain Jonny Evans waiting in the wings if that deal falls through. Meanwhile, Chelsea are in talks with Mahrez (apparently), Man City are about to sign John Stones, and Man United have just spent £89 on Paul Pogba…
It seems as though West Ham could be in for Matt Debuchy after Bordeaux turned him down, and Galatasary were also offered the player.
The French side have apparently baulked at the price, and it seems West Ham are hoping to nip in front of the Turks to sign the right back who has never really found any kind of form or consistency at Arsenal. Just waiting for the move and then the subsequent ‘My Arsenal Hell’ stories.
