Deal close: Arsenal close in on another deal, medical scheduled Thursday
According to reports, Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny will be arriving in Italy on Wednesday to complete another loan move to Italian giants; AS Roma.
The Polish international goalkeeper will undergo a medical with Roma on Thursday to complete the transfer deal, according to a report on Monday by Gianluca Di Marzio.
It was also reported last week by Italian news outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport who claim a deal was agreed, and they also state that Roma has now included the option to buy Szczesny for the sum of £13.4million when the season ends.
Monday’s report reckons that Everton were trying to hijack the Szczęsny deal from Roma but it seems Roma were keen to push ahead and get the deal done quickly.
The 26-year-old ace fell out of favour when he lost his place in the Arsenal side to David Ospina in 2015 and then fell further down the pecking order, when Petr Cech signed from London rival Chelsea.
Szczęsny, 26, had a great season with AS Roma and helped then to secure third position in the Italian Serie A table with 34 appearances. He has also won 27 caps for his country and previously made 181 senior appearances for Arsenal under the tutelage of Sir Arsene Wenger OBE.
