PFA Player of the Year’s agent meets Wenger, player wants to join Arsenal

According to a report coming out Eurosport France today, Leicester City’s star winger Riyad Mahrez wants to make a move to The Emirates this summer.

The 25-year-old ace had a dazzling season with the Premier League Champions and was named the PFA Player of last Season, ahead of Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil.

Before Euro 2016, the North London club made a bid for Jamie Vardy for around £21m which trigger the England international’s release clause, only for Vardy to snub a move to the Emirates and remain at the King Power stadium next season and signing a new four-year contract with the Foxes.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Mahrez had snubbed a £100,000-per-week offer that the Foxes offered him and the report from Eurosport France, claims that the Algerian’s agent has now met with the Gunners manager Arsene Wenger and Chairman Ivan Gazidis in order to seal a deal in the coming weeks.

The Algerian attacker has heavily been linked with a move to The Emirates and it’s believed that the fee will be around £45m, a figure which I personally think the Foxes won’t reject and they also have the impressive Ahmed Musa who can fill the void that will be left by Mahrez should he complete the move.
