Italian journalist confirms Arsenal are in advanced talks with 21 goal hitman

According to ‘reliable’ Italian Journalist Emanuele Giulianelli, Arsenal have reportedly resumed talks with Lyon for French international striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The Italian Journalist tweeted that we are still looking at Lacazette as a primary target this summer as Arsene Wenger looks to sign a striker to boost the forward lines for Arsenal.

Arsenal have continuously been linked with a move with a Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain and Mauro Icardi of Inter Milan, however the report claims that Lacazette is the most likely to join Arsenal this summer to partner Giroud up top.

The report from GetfootballnewsFrance earlier this week claims that the £42m price tag maybe an obstacle to the deal. The journalist goes on to say that Higuain moving to the Emirates is far from certain, he also confirmed that Arsenal have not made any official bid for Icardi.

Giulianelli hardly ever gets it wrong when it comes to Arsenal transfers and he was the first person to report Granit Xhaka will be moving to the Emirates Stadium.

He was also crowned the Ligue 1 player of the season in the 2014/15 season after he won the Golden boot ahead of the brilliant Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Over the past three seasons, The French international has netted an incredible 76 goals and created 20 assists for the Ligue 1 outfit.

Lacazette’s release clause is thought to be around £42m which is much more realistic than the Gonzalo Higuain price tag and I personally think signing Lacazette will help the North Londoners challenge for the title next season. His electric pace, clever movement, brilliant technique and better-quality finishing would make him the perfect foil for Ozil’s vision in the final third.

There are many more rumours flying around Twitter today, I’ve read Wenger is in for a £50m striker, which could be Lacazette and I’ve also read this morning that the Frenchman is ready to ‘do another madness’ – the new name for when le Boss goes all out to land the big player he’s really after.
