German attacker keen on moving to Arsenal, as Wenger meet agent

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is said to be upping his search for a new winger this summer. The North Londoners were linked with Borussia Dortmund’s winger Henrikh Mkhitaryan who has now signed for Manchester United, so Wenger is looking at other options and it’s thought that he is showing a real interest in signing Julian Draxler (again).

With the Gunners highly rated midfielders; Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain both been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium, this means Wenger will be on the hunt for a replacement to fill the void should they leave.

This could well mean an imminent move for Draxler who has been linked with a move to the Emirates for a while now and it seems he his keen on finally signing for Arsenal, and it’s also thought that Wenger has already held talks with the German international’s agent in France during Euro 16 over a potential move to North London.

The 22-year-old ace has been previously linked with a move to Arsenal while he was with Schalke 04 but Wenger missed out and it was reported by ESPN FC two years ago that the German side had snubbed Arsenal’s bid before they agreed to sell him to Wolfsburg the following year.

However, the report from German news outlet, SportsBild, reported that Wenger has made Draxler top of his shopping list this summer. Bild suggest that the Gunners will have to pay as much as £50m (€60m) which will make him Arsenal’s biggest signing to date.

It was also reported that Wenger praised the German international during the European Championships tournament that has just finished in France. The French manager has openly declared he is a fan of the German international so maybe Wenger is just showing Arsenal fans he is ready to push ahead for a deal and may sign him this summer.

Whether Wenger will trigger the £50m (€60m) or not it is yet to be seen but I personally think if Wenger finally signs Draxler that can help the a Gunners to challenge for the title.

Having watched Draxler playing on so many occasions, I am convinced he as the potential to become an attacker like Di Maria of PSG, if he can work towards his potential under Wenger, I personally think he can be as good, if not better than as Di Maria.
