What a Rubbish Week That Was…

Tottenham 2-2 Arsenal…

After going ahead against the run of play through a genius back heel from the bang out of form Ramsey, we found ourselves in a bit of a hole after Spurs fought back to lead 2-1 after the break.

The catalyst for our latest implosion was the stupid sending off of one Francois Coquelin, for a second yellow card, which sees the Frenchman miss our FA Cup Replay with Hull on Tuesday. However. without a win in five, and some poor recent performances, it looked like our league season was all but over, until Alexis Sanchez fired us back level with a cracking finish 20 mins from time.

The equaliser was enough to win us a point, but still sees us eight points behind Leicester who beat Watford away 1-0 later in the day, and still 3 points behind Spurs with a worse goal difference. Spurs have a much harder run in, so who knows, but this result which frankly looked unlikely after the red card, will go some way to stopping the recent rot.

Arsenal 1-2 Swansea. Wait, what?

With Leicester drawing with West Brom on Tuesday, and as it turned out Spurs losing to West Ham, we blew an almight chance to make up some ground at the top of the league last week.

We even had the audacity to go 1-0 up, before finding ourselves 2-1 down again, this time there was no comeback (or red card) but there was a lot of very upset Arsenal fans at The Emirates. Wenger’s odd substitutions, and poor performances from almost everyone, saw the boo boys up in arms.

Cech Out…

In even worse news, Koscielny missed the game, and the subsequent Spurs game, and it was announced Petr Cech will now be out for FOUR WEEKS with a groin injury meaning David Ospina will take his place. The Colombian played really well for the Spurs game, making a total of 9 saves, more than anyone since 2009 or something or other. Well done Ospina, you proved me wrong at least, keep it up…

Le Coq is suspended and it seems Koscielny will also miss the Hull game, and the game at the weekend, whomever we play – remember if we win tomorrow night, we play Watford at 130pm on Sunday in the FA Cup Quarter Final, alternatively, when we lose on penalties after extra time, we’ll play West Brom at 530 on Saturday night as planned…
