Keeper Emiliano Martínez has joined Reading on loan until the end of the season.

All of the recent keeper news has been regarding Petr Cech’s retirement, but Martínez has nipped in to grab some headlines of his own, heading off to the deepest darkest depths of Berkshire for the rest of this campaign.

Martínez signed for Arsenal in 2010 and went on loan to Oxford, not making his Arsenal debut until a Capital One Cup win over Coventry City. He then went out on loan at Sheffield Wednesday before returning to The Emirates as our cup keeper, played a handful of games before going out on loan at Wolves again.

He returned and played a few more games, mainly in the cup, and then headed off to Spain, then back to Arsenal and now off to Reading until the end of the season.

Best of luck Emiliano, I know you are an avid reader of ArsenalShorts in between all that driving around the place.
