Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis has left Arsenal to join AC Milan for a whopping £6m salary, more than doubling what he was earning at The Emirates according to a report in The Guardian.

The stories about his departure have been circulating for months, and the move finally happened last week, he will leave Arsenal at the end of October and start his new job on December 1st in Milan.

The move has prompted a reshuffle with Raul Sanllehí now The Head of Football, and Vinai Venkatesham changing his job from Chief Commercial Officer to Arsenal’s new Managing Director.

Gazidis said he was “energised” to be going to Milan, and Manager Unai Emery has said that we can cope with his departure., telling Sky Sports:

“I arrived here with Ivan Gazidis and all the conversations we had were important for me to find the best impression of Arsenal and it’s future. He had this chance to leave for Milan – I respect it, it’s a very personal decision.

We would prefer for him to continue working with us but I respect him a lot as a friend and I want to keep a good relationship with him. I still have a lot of confidence with the club and the people who are still here…”
