The Gunners have apparently reached an agreement ahead of the World Cup for a highly-rated midfielder in an attempt to recruit him for next term.

New manager Unai Emery has been seen doing a brilliant job recruiting for Arsenal, having been able to land Stephan Lichsteiner while Sokratis Papastathopoulos is rumoured to be announced next month.

In additional to those, The Gunners have also announced the signing of Bernd Leno on the club’s official Twitter feed last night and are also looking at recruiting more players with Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira set to be coming in as well.

The 22-year-old is currently on duty for his country at the World Cup which is thought to be slowing down the move to Arsenal.

There have been rumours of his possible move to join Arsenal for a while but a Sky Sports journalist confirmed on his Twitter account that an announcement will be made soon. This was straight after the announcement of Bernd Leno last night.

Even so, they’re reporting that other clubs could be looking at hijack the move, but Arsenal are now almost over the line with the move to sign the South American.
