Arsenal have handed young defender Rob Holding a new long term contract at the club after the 20-year-old showed signs that he’s a player for the long term and could feature in the long term future plans of the club. Holding joined Arsenal last year from Bolton last year and he’s is having a good start to his top-flight footballing career at The Emirates.

He took to Twitter to announce the new long term contract when he replied a tweet from the official Arsenal account:

It is a good indication for Holding that the club value him and he will stay at the club if he keeps improving.

Holding is expected to get more playing time at the club next season as Per Metesacker is retiring while Shkrodan Mustafi is out of form and the only trusted person is Captain Laurent Koscielny who is always battling against his ankle injury. The future looks bright for Holding if he can get a chance at the first team and hold down his place.
