Arsenal’s in-form Spanish defender, Nacho Monreal has offered his opinion on the ongoing Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez contract saga. The defender believes that everyone in the dressing room feels the same way, that the players will stay at the club.

Monreal stated this after the North London Derby where Ozil and Sanchez produced one of their best performances in Arsenal shirts which helped Arsenal to an amazing 2-0 win against Tottenham. The two players were involved in both goals with Ozil providing the assist for the first goal for Mustafi to head home from a free kick while Sanchez scored the second goal from a close range shot.

When asked by IBTimes whether he thinks that both players will stay until the end of the season, Monreal said:

“Yes, the feeling is that they will continue. At no time have we talked about the possibility of them leaving. Not at all, they are committed to the group and we will see what happens…”

Arsene Wenger had recently admitted that the club could be forced to sell the players in January but still believes an agreement could be reached before then.

Sanchez is said to be on the radar of Premier League rivals, Manchester City while Ozil has been linked with Manchester United and now Barcelona are said to be joining in the race for his services.

However, with the promise of some investment in the squad, and if Arsenal could put in the level of performance against Tottenham week in week out, who knows, Sanchez and Ozil could yet be signing a new deal.
