Speculation linking Spanish international Hector Bellerin with a move to back to Barcelona has refused to be die down, but his team mate Lucas Perez has confirmed that he will remain with Arsenal next season.

The 22-year-old Spaniard has long been linked with a return to Barcelona, he signed a new six year contract worth £100,000-per-week with Arsenal, to deflect the attention of the Spanish giants but they have still not to give up in the pursuit.

Barcelona have been looking to sign a new right back to fill the void that was left by Dani Alves who left the Nou Camp to join Juventus, and the performances of Sergio Roberto and Aleix Vidal haven’t been up to scratch by Barcelona’s standards.

However, Perez still believes the Spain international has a future with Arsenal. As he said as quoted by IBTimes:

“In the world of football you never know what can happen, but he has just signed a new deal and I think he will continue in London because he is very happy here, he has been here many years, his family lives with him and he is happy at Arsenal. Furthermore, he is a player with a long future ahead at the club. I do not think that he is going to leave but it is clear that not every day Barcelona knocks on your door. It will be very difficult [for him to leave Arsenal].”

So it seems as though Barcelona will have to look elsewhere for a right-back since the hope of signing Bellerin now looks dead, for this summer at least.
