German international midfield genius Mesut Ozil joined Arsenal in the 2013/2014 season from Real Madrid for a deal worth £42.5 million (€50 million) in the most audacious transfer swoop we have ever pulled off, well perhaps apart from this one…

Since joining, Ozil has helped Arsenal to win two FA Cups and has been instrumental in several strong Premier League seasons.

There’s talk of a new contract for Ozil, who has less than two years left of his current contract at the Emirates Stadium, and it’s thought him and Alexis Sanchez are both trying to get new deals.

He’s not been in his best form yet this season and doesn’t look that happy on the pitch right now although it does look like things are slowly creaking into action for the German playmaker.

Hector Bellerin and Alexis Sanchez are both being talked about as transfer targets for Man City and Barcelona, could it be that Ozil is looking to orchestrate a move or is it just a Euro 2016 hangover, which is taking a while to shake?

With the upcoming visit of Chelsea this Saturday night, let’s hope we see the very best of a very happy Mesut Ozil, and he helps us to bury our Chelsea hoodoo.
