Carragher reacts on Twitter to PSG vs Arsenal clash last night

After Edinson Cavani’s early goal that went in after just 42 seconds, Jamie Carragher took to Twitter to voice his ‘unbiased’ opinion on both Cavani, and later on, Marco Verratti’s performance.

Uruguayan international Cavani, who its thought could have been a target for Arsene Wenger through the years, saw his glancing header beat Ospina last night on PSG’s first attack from the kick off, setting up what ended as a 1-1 draw in the first round on Champions League games.

Carragher tweeted:

PSG’s last night performance was brilliant in parts, although they didn’t have the cutting edge to punish us as they should have, and the game wore on, it then looked more likely that we’d take the three points.

David Ospina (...ahem, who we’ve always liked) was inspired in goal, made so many world class saves from Cavani, and other PSG attackers, literally keeping us in the game for long periods.

The game will definitely be a boost to Arsenal, we have now won 2, drawn 2 and lost just one of our first five games this season, with a visit to Hull this weekend, and then a precarious potato skin of a League Cup game next week against Nottingham Forest.

Lukily for us, the other game, Basel v Ludogorets also finished 1-1 last night, giving no one a real advantage heading into the next set of games, where we host Basel and Ludogorets take on PSG.
