Gunners Target Happy with Italian Job...
One of Arsenal's possible transfer targets for this summer seems determined to turn down potential suitors and continue his Italian adventure.
Felipe Melo has been linked with a move to North London for a few seasons as Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of his.
Reportedly, he was close to joining the Gunners 12 months ago, but instead move from Fiorentina to Juventus. This summer it is thought Wenger could be readying a £15 million bid for the Brazilian.
Melo endured a difficult first season in Turin, but the 26-year-old remains happy with his life in Italy.
Wenger has previously stated that he wanted to get all his transfer activity sewn up before the World Cup kicks off on June 11th, so he may have to move quickly if he wants to persuade the midfielder, who could join the Brazil squad in South Africa, to swap the Italian lifestyle for North London.
Brazil are second favourites in the World Cup bettingand a good showing by Melo could increase the player's value even further.
However, speaking to tottojuve.com he revealed he is not concerned by the rumours.
He said: "I have heard about the interest of Arsenal, once again, but there is nothing concrete.
"The only certainty is that I still have a four-year contract with Juventus and Juventus fans have a great affection for me, so I want to win a title for them."
However, the Premier League titles oddsfor next season suggest Arsenal will face a tough challenge when it comes to competing with Chelsea and Manchester United and Wenger knows he has to strengthen his squad.
Melo could be seen as a great replacement for Gunners captain Cesc Fabregas as speculation the 23-year-old could return to former club Barcelona this summer continues.
