Arsenal 1-0 Liverpool...
As a whisky soaked, World Cup Final missing old goat once said: "It's a funny old game Saint..." and indeed it is. One minute, we're dead and buried after being outmuscled by Roman's soulless, historyless, dead behind the cold, cold eyes, non-feeling, destroyers of football, then the very next minute, the same soulless hist-- CHELSEA go and lose to Everton at Goodison Park meaning we are at least still on some kind of a title tilt.
Add to this a United draw with Villa, a great win for Wolves over Top3Tottenham, and all we had to do was win. Which we did. Against Liverpool, thanks to a fairly late Abu Dhabi goal. The win sees us just 6 points off the summit, with, what on paper looks like a gentle run coming up. Porto next, but first a well deserved rest for our overpaid, underbothered stars...
A match wouldn't be complete with further additions to our injury list, and last night was no exception. Alex Song has done something to his medial knee ligaments, Andrey Arshavin has a hamstring problem, and Nasri got an elbow in the face and was a big groggy, all are hoping to be fit for Porto next week...
Aha...! The Sunu to Shine for Der-by...?
Nigel Clough is after Gilles Sunu on loan to bolster his strike force. Cloughie Jnr said: "well, young man, we are still working and waiting to hear from Arsenal on that. We would certainly like him in if we could, and if we could get him in before Saturday then even better..."
