Charity Shield Countdown... Woj Off! Signing!

Charity Shield Countdown...
According to Sky Sports and various other media hovels, Diego Costa and Gary Cahill may miss the Charity Shield this weekend.

Costa was taken off in Chelsea's game against Barcelona on Wednesday with a hamstring injury, and Cahill has what looks like a broken nose which can only be good news for us...

It's thought Petr Cech will make his competitive debut against his old side, and there's also rumours that Chelsea will allow their GK coach, Christophe Lollichon to follow in Cech's footsteps and join Arsenal.

This all follows a week in which Jose Mourinho has once again endeared himself to humans around the world with his witty banter, and scathing factual insight, well... he called Rafa Benitez fat and said we'd spent more than Chelsea, which we haven't.

Emirates Cup Winners, Again!
With a 6-0 win over Lyon on Saturday, and a 1-0 win over Nicklas Bendtner's Wolfsburg on Sunday, the mighty Gunners won The Emirates Cup for the 4th time in 8 years.

Saturday's performance was pure liquid football, poetry in motion, while Sunday was more of a patient, tired looking win but we did enough to take the trophy. Charity Shield up next to make it a hat trick of silverware before the season even begins! Unless we lost of course, then it's 2 trophies, and a meaningless friendly defeat to the Oil Billionaires.

Roma Loaner for Woj...
Wojciech Szczesny has joined AC Roma on loan for a season, but Le Boss still insists he has a place at Arsenal despite rumours the move may become permanent.

AW said: "I believe he will have a future at Arsenal, I rate him highly. I put him in the first team at the age of 20 and he already has huge experience..."

Good luck Chezzer!

Youngster Signs...
The backroom boys have been working hard to bolster the ranks behind the scenes, and despite it not being officially confirmed, it looks like we've poached another promising youngster, this time from the Ajax Academy.

16 year old striker, Donyell Malen has chosen Arsenal over a host of other clubs (most probably).
